Interview With The Champions - -ªã¤õ¤pºw-

(Junior Mecha Champion - -ªã¤õ¤pºw-)

Q: Why did you pick this kit for Summer Contest 2009?

A: Actually, there ain't any particular reason at all. I have heard that many people like Aura Battler. For the time being, I manage to get a kit of Fhantasm sculpted by Imaike, and I do like it very much, hence I took it for the contest! I was originally going for the Senior, but yet a friend of mine went to Junior and thus I went for Junior too.

Q: What was the most challenging part of building this kit?

A: I guess one of the greatest challenges is that I need to present the exoskeleton with a feeling a fading colour of yellow along with some dusty effect after the Battler being operated for a long time.

The above was the first plan. However, things were getting worse when it came to practice. I'd tried boneish white and blackish brown colour, neither of them look good as they just like fossil or experimental specimen. And this final work didn't come up after numerous of alteration. When scratching, it needed to be carefully as too much will lead to some unnatural effect to the entire work.

Now I like this yellowish exoskeleton with bio-redish brown interior outfit very much. The colour does bland well to show a perfect sense of the Aura Battler.

Q: What do you think is the highlight of your work?

A: The rounded shield! I am particularly satisfied with the metallic violet tag up with the gloomy gold, they perfectly shows the different textures of the shield!

Q: Besides your work, which entries you really like in Summer Contest 2009?

A: Tolax's The Great! He is actually a friend of mine, and I do like the painting and the converting skill, a well match between the super robot and the realistic robot series.

For senior, I guess I would go for taiyangniao's JAGD Mirage. I see that it would definitely a work by expert modeller.

Q: How did you start this hobby?

A: I like making stuff since I was a kid. After getting touch with BB Senshi, then I started working all those plastic models, though I did stop for sometime, academic wise, I did come back to this hobby about 2 years ago.

I was making little conversion and painting different toys, when I get more skill, then accidentally drop into the GK ¡¥heaven'¡K

Q: How long have you been building GK?

A: About two and a half year.

Q: What is the first GK you built?

A: The first one¡K I think it should be Artificial Humanoid Kikaider by SIC, but didn't finish it as it involving too much work (lol)

Q: How many GK have you built so far?

A: If you really referring a completed kit, then this should be the first one¡K

Q: Throughout all the GK you built, which GK you built that makes you proud?

A: Definitely this Fhantasm that get agreed by everyone!

Q: What is your thought about GK hobby?

A: As for me, I don't find anything more interesting than self-making stuff.

It is true that we would face much failure, simply error and trial, but it does give you a great satisfaction when you get it finished! By looking at the kit, I have ideas of how to present it, how to reconfigure it to achieve the best outcome, and finally build up my skill and finish my work¡K I do think this is a challenge with a crown!

Q: What do you do for living?

A: Just graduated, I am now preparing examination for studying aboard.

Q: What advices would you suggest to novices at GK?

A: I know many would hesitate when they try to step into the field of GK. They think it would be a tedious for self-building and painting. In fact, excepting the drilling for positioning, it goes exactly the same as building plastic kit. Putting the parts together and paint it, nothing more! You might wish to just start it off, find out if you have any problem and search for a solution, it shouldn't be too difficult!
