RT1323 MH Phantom In Stock (1)
First off, thank you, e2046, for this garage kit at a good price after sale & VIP discount. This kit is not for beginners, but for someone in between beginner & intermediate modeler. Packing was top notch. The kit was built by a factory with the same irony-white liquid synthetic resin in the newer kits. You should wear a dust mask while sanding & a respirator while airbrushing. I recommend 5-min epoxy instead of instant glue because you can fix any problems before they become permanent. Pros: Low part count (89) for such a large scale (28.5 cm from tip of horn to toe). Standard FSS stance. Good cast. Near perfect surfaces. No air bubbles. Some parts engraved with L or R. Just about the right amount of detail like recessed lines & mechanical parts which I enjoyed painting & lining. Choice of 3 different color schemes: white, red & medium gray. Cons: Oversimplified & vague Japanese instructions. Some parts were hard to figure out where to place. Both arms should tilt outwards like the newer gunpla. Keep test-fitting until you get it right before gluing. Warped sword. Some misalignments. It took me 3 tries to get the legs & lower torso right. The upper body tilted a bit backwards so I sanded the bottom of the waist/stomach. A bit of flash here & there. Some pegs had to be cut off or trimmed to fit the holes. The kit is not the 1st large scale FFS resin kit I've built, but it's the 1st one to get me hooked on large scale. I'd recommend this kit as a good stepping stone on your way to larger builds.
