Speedy arrival, clean cast with a good fit. Good mid level kit for someone who is looking for more of a challenge then a simple basic kit.
There is a continual problem with figure kits, and that is that 1/x scale does not always translate to the same size when pairing with another kit that is supposed to be the same scale. I got all three of this set (Rei, Asuka, and Misato), since all were available at the same time. The casting on all three is the usual superb quality one come to expect from E2046. Even though these are about mid-sized for 1/6 scale (I prefer larger scales to work on) I have seen some 1/6 that are much smaller in relation to these. But the main point is that these three kits are tailor-made to fit together, and they do fit together very well. Just be aware that if you are considering one, you should be prepared to order all three, because when you see one, you'll definitely want the others!
HOLY LORD!!! Got me worried there! Ordered this on June 11th, took nearly 1 month and three weeks before arriving! Three other kits ordered much later arrived way before this! I thought maybe the post office lost it or something...Probably just stuck in customs or mail man delivered it to the wrong address (which tends to happens)..........Anyways..........Great casting of a great figure. Dry fitting shows it to be around 1/6th scale. Details again is top notch. Most of the parts are along paint lines to make the painting somewhat easier but no less hard. Not many parts so should be an easy build. Cons: The bandages over her head are really crispy so becareful not to snap any of them. Painting is still hard despite the separation. I'll probably go for the mostly black outfit since white don't cover anything! Still, because the white is all along a diagonal, this will make taping extremely hard (probably just gonna eyeball the black after spraying on the white). Test fitting shows the right leg, just behind her gluteal to the upper thong joint has a seam. However, it is small so probably will put paint on the leg and thong first, then putty and sand and brush paint on the paints. Same thing was found on the left arm, on the bottom near the armpit to shoulder joint. Again, seam is small but noticeable so will again, paint everything up, then putty and sand before brush on the paint again. Should be a fun build but it's after Megan, Yamasaki Anzu and Mai Shuranui so may be a while.
