quite good casting, they've got strange faces and it's really interesting!!
Himari and Ageha have arrived safely with all parts included and intact thanks to E's diligent packaging. The cast is clean with no airbubbles or seams and very little flashing. These are cute wee girls and I can't wait to start painting them. Thanks for such a great kit :-)
Fairly well cast with no major flaws and the parts dry fit together very well. One casting problem is the base for the kit is very warped and is almost a shallow bowl shape. This will require a lot of heating to get flat. Other than that there are no pin holes, bubbles, or warped figure parts. The packaging wasn't up to normal E2046 standards with many thin fragile parts just in plastic bags with no bubble wrap and as a result several parts are broken. Nothing is missing and it can be fixed but it will require additional attention and time not normally required in an E2046 kit. Overall a nice kit.
I preordered Himari and Ageha in Dezember 09. After a year of waiting she finally made it and arrived just yesterday, really fast and without being captured by the customs :) There are some flashes to remove and the base bend a bit, but the fitting is amazing. It's a wonderful kit, can't wait to start working on it :D
An excellent set of models. Beautifully cast, with no noticible seam lines or pinholes. There is some minor gapping on alignment, but not badly, and flash is minimal. Detail is clear and clean, with nothing missing or broken. It can't be seen in the parts picture, but the base has all the designs etched into it, so they can be easily reproduced. The sort of high-quality kit that I expect from E2046.
Both kits arrived in good condition. Well packaged and both with good quality casting. I am happy that parts for the Himari and Ageha twins come marked as "A" and "B" which will greatly help me assemble the kit. One thing I noticed is I got two heads marked as "A" and no head marked as "B." A quick fitting proved that the "A" head fits into the "B" torso pretty well - just a little putty will make it perfect. And I love my three cute SD girls! I can't wait to try some techniques for their kimono patterns!
I was very happy to find that these pieces were in fact meant to be two people from the beginning, and are clearly labelled A for himari parts, and B for ageha. And here I was thinking I was going to have a devil of a time figuring which was what. Funny part is, even the torsos and skirts are labelled like that, which makes me wonder why other places are selling them separately. Ah well. This also comes with a base - and it's MUCH larger than it looks in the photos! They'll both fit comfortably on it when I'm finished with room to spare. The resin quality was top notch as usual, I was happy to see that. Casting was pretty good - I didn't see any huge problems, though I noticed a couple areas on the back hair pieces that were bubbled up a bit. There were only three areas like that and they were as small as air bubbles, only convex instead of concave. Also a few areas of the back hair looked a little thin and brittle, so it will require some putty and a very gentle touch when preparing. Overall though they're a very striking pair - the faces are left blank so you can give them whatever expression and eyebrow style you want. Just thought that was worth noting for those who rely on facial guides for painting eyebrows and eyes. I'll enjoy flexing my creative muscles on these two when I get to them. Thanks E2046!
Received these 2 most eagerly awaited girls today, all was well packed and despite the very fragile hair pieces, everything was perfect and unharmed. The cast is great, even though the cheaper resin was used and then sanded to try and eliminate the shine. What these guys in the warehouses don't seem to realise is that we modellers know the difference just by tapping the resin and even the way it feels in the hand, so I do wish that they would stop trying to save money and use the good stuff we all like receiving. That being said, the girls will look great when painted. However the base was not included, so could someone look into that for me? Thanks
