These types of bases are very nice - easy to work with and won't scratch as easily as the proper wood bases (these aren't really wood, more of a cross between MDF and clay). They're easy to paint or attach decals to and best for models 1/7 scale or under. Depending on the kit, you may want a thicker, heavier base for kits 30cm and up. E packs the bases quite nicely, but every once in a while I'll get one that wasn't done curing before packing, and it will have bubble wrap markings on it. Not the greatest thing to deal with but a lot easier to work with with these types of bases than the shiny surface ones. Overall a great value.
